A miscarriage is especially damaging on the mother. Simply put, there is no more devastating experience than carrying a child—your child—in your stomach for nine months, nourishing it with your own body, singing it to sleep, only to give birth to a stillborn or a dead baby. But the miscarriage is painful to the father as well, of course, but it's still the mother that suffers the most from the experience. A miscarriage can really break a woman's spirit.
The trauma brought on by a miscarriage is one the reason why a pregnancy following a miscarriage has become a sensitive issue of debate for both Christian and non-Christian couples. It is not only the emotional bond of the mother to her new child that is at stake here – but also the Lord's stand on pregnancy following a miscarriage?

As the father and breadwinner, it is understandable that you'd want to have children with your wife. But after a miscarriage, the situation becomes completely messed up.
First things first, you must consider her feelings. Is the pain still fresh in her mind and in her heart? Losing your child is no simple thing. You must be certain the wife is ready to take on the task of another pregnancy.
As the father, next you must consider her health. Is her body ready for another pregnancy? You need to talk to your family doctor about this issue. There are several reasons why women have miscarriages, and make sure the same reasons don't spill over to your next attempt at a baby. If the miscarriage was due to malnutrition, then be certain your wife is healthy and in good shape before you guys try again.
