Should You Give Your Miscarried Baby A Name?I never thought about actually naming the babies I lost through miscarriage - especially since I had so many. Here are some reasons you may want to name your baby:
- Naming your baby will give you a specific way to remember them. Because I had so many miscarriage, there are times that I forget the days, years and so on. Granted, there are parts of me that want to forget those painful memories, but it can be very healing to acknowledge the pregnancy before trying to move on.

- If you have other children, it may help them understand that the miscarriage was the loss of an actual person and a family member
- Naming your baby gives them respect. Your miscarriage was not just a cluster of cells, it had the potential to be a member of society and a person with a full life.
- Giving your lost baby a name will help others who are having difficulty communicating with you about your loss. It give you and them a way to refer to your pregnancy without having to avoid the subject.
